چکیده
Introduction: Computational modeling is one of the best non-invasive approaches to predicting functional behavior mitral valve (MV) in health and disease. Mitral prolapse (MVP) due partial or complete chordae tendineae rapture most common valvular disease results regurgitation (MR). Methods: In this study, Image-based fluid-structure interaction (FSI) models human MV are developed normal physiological posterior leaflet conditions. Detailed geometry healthy derived from Computed Tomography imaging data. To provide condition, some chords attached removed valve. Both prolapsed valves embedded separately a straight tubular blood volume simulated under systolic pressure loads. The Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian finite element method used accommodate deforming intersection boundaries MV. Results: stress values components, also flow patterns including regurgitant rates obtained compared both conditions through simulation. These simulations have potential improve treatment patients with MVP, help surgeons more realistic insight into dynamics prolapse. Conclusion: model, computational show incomplete coaptation, higher MR severity, significant increment Moreover, it found deviation jet towards left atrium wall

Association between the severity of chest pain and the severity of mitral valve prolapse in children
Introduction: One of the causes of chest pain in children is mitral valve prolapse (MVP). This study aimed to investigate the association between the severity of chest pain and the severity of MVP. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study was designed on 103 children aged 7 to 18 years suffering from MVP along with chest pain. By using echocardiography, severity of MVP was assessed in ...
متن کاملMarcus-gunn phenomenon with- mitral valve prolapse
Marcus-gunn phenomenon is a congenital and sometimes hereditary anomaly, in which a ptotic eyelid retracts momentarily when the mouth is open, or the jaw is moved. These associated movements attributed to abnormal connections between the central mechanisms innervating the pterygoid and elevator muscles. Sometimes this anomaly is associated with dual,s retraction syndrome, duplex kindneys and ur...
متن کاملNormal joint mobility in mitral valve prolapse.
Thirty-seven adults (19 male, 18 female) with mitral valve prolapse (MVP) were examined for evidence of joint hypermobility scored on a 0-9 scale. None of the patients had hypermobility scores exceeding 3, and comparison with 37 healthy age and sex matched controls recruited from hospital staff failed to show an increased prevalence of hypermobility in MVP. There was no evidence that the MVP sy...
متن کاملE VALUATION OF ADENYLATE CYCLASE ACTIVITY IN MITRAL VALVE PROLAPSE
The term mitral valve prolapse (MVP) is used for a particular subset of patients with hyperadrenergic dysautonomia. It occurs when part of a leaflet or both leaflets of the mitral valve extend above the plane of the atrioventricular junction during ventricular systole. The adenylate cyclase activity in MVP dys-autonomia was studied by extraction of enzyme from the erythrocytes from 62 norma...
متن کاملEffect of position on echocardiographic diagnosis of mitral valve prolapse
Echocardiography has been accepted as the diagnostic modality of choice for mitral valve prolapse (MVP). The determine the effect of position on echocardiographic diagnosis of MVP, we examined 693 consecutive patients referred to the echocardiography laboratory because of suspected MVP. First, patients were examined using the usual standard M-Mode echocardiography( left parasternal third or fou...
